Noemi Aerospace (formerly Elfly Group) has recruited aviation and aerospace expert Simon Bendrey as Chief Engineer and Head of Design.
Bendrey will lead the continued development of Noemi’s fully electric seaplane program, guiding the company from concept validation into full-scale prototype development.
With more than 30 years of experience in aircraft design and development, including nearly two decades within the Airbus ecosystem and most recently as Chief Engineer at Dufour Aerospace in Switzerland, Bendrey brings deep technical expertise as well as commercial program experience. He has previously led two aircraft programs through the first flight.
Founded in Bergen, the company maintains its commercial headquarters there, with design and engineering based at Sandefjord Airport (Torp).
The company has also changed its name from Elfly Group to Noemi Aerospace, to better reflect its international focus and long-term global ambitions.
Construction of the full-scale experimental prototype is planned to begin in early 2026, with first flight targeted for 2027. The company has secured more than 70 pre-orders for the NOEMI aircraft.
